The master's degree program of Information and Computing Science is a second-level master's degree program founded by the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Information Engineering, which is subordinate to the first-level master's degree program of Computer Science and Technology, officially approved by the Ministry of Education in 2013 and started to enroll in 2014.


The information society needs to cultivate a group of leaders and frontier warriors in the field of information, and the master's degree in Information and Computing Science focuses on the mathematical foundation and mathematical methods of information technology and computing technology, emphasizing the integrated use of mathematics and computers to solve practical application problems in the fields of information processing, data analysis, knowledge discovery and management decision-making.


The master's degree in information and computing science is mainly accepted from candidates who graduated from undergraduate majors of computer science and technology, information and computing science, mathematics and applied mathematics, management science and engineering, information management and information systems, etc. The academic system is 2 to 3 years. The curriculum system includes the following three aspects: modern mathematical theory and methods, computer application technology foundation, application development practice, etc. The program has the following three main training directions: mathematical mechanization and algorithms, soft computing and intelligent information processing, and numerical computing and data processing.
