Training Objectives


This major cultivates the ability to master the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic methods of mathematical science, to apply mathematical knowledge and use computers to solve several practical problems, and to engage in teaching or research work such as software development, data analysis, etc. in government agencies at all levels, financial institutions, library and information systems, industrial departments, schools, troops, scientific research institutions, transportation departments, especially in shipping enterprises, or to pursue further studies. Postgraduate study.


Training requirements

Curriculum and Credit Distribution


(I) General Education Courses (51 credits)


Requirements: 41 credits of compulsory general education courses and 10 credits of elective general education courses.


(B) disciplinary foundation courses (41 credits)


Requirements: complete all 41 credits of disciplinary foundation courses.


(C) professional education courses (58 credits)


Requirements: mandatory courses, 39 credits; elective courses, 19 credits.


(D) any elective courses (6 credits)

Enrollment Scale


Basically, one class with 30-40 students is enrolled each year.


Faculty


At present, there are 14 full-time teachers in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, among whom 11 have senior titles, 2 are subject leaders and 3 are school backbone teachers. The proportion of teachers with doctoral degrees is over 70%, and the proportion of young teachers under 35 years old with doctoral degrees is 100%, with a reasonable age structure. At the same time, the teaching of basic mathematics courses and thesis guidance can share the resources of teachers in Information and Computing Science, and the faculty strength is strong.
