题目Stage structured models with seasonal stage durations

摘要Stage structured models, by grouping individuals with similar demographic characteristics together, have proven useful in describing population dynamics. To describe the heterogeneity in development, distributions for stage durations should be carefully incorporated in model formulation.  This talk starts to introduce two widely-used modeling frameworks, in the form of integral equations and age-structured partial differential equations, and their equivalent ordinary differential equation systems under further assumptions on the distributions for the stage durations. Further models and related mathematical analysis will be presented when seasonal development durations are considered. 

主讲人简介:楼一均,2010年毕业于加拿大纽芬兰纪念大学获博士学位。现任香港理工大学副教授;曾获加拿大MITACS博士后基金。近期研究受国家自然科学基金和香港特别行政区大学教育资助委员会资助。主要研究方向为应用动力系统及其在复杂生物系统的应用。在SIAM Journal of Applied Mathematics, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Journal of Nonlinear Science, Nonlinearity, Journal of Differential Equations, Journal of Mathematical Biology, Chaos, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Ecological Complexity 等主流应用数学以及理论生态学杂志发表SCI论文六十多篇。现任Infectious Disease Modelling杂志Associated Editor,和Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering, PLoS One, Advances in Continuous and Discrete Models等期刊编委。
