On January 16, 2013, our university held the annual science and Technology commending conference for 2012. College of Arts and Sciences were commended many collective and individual awards, including the Department Award for Science and Technology (S&T) contributions, the National Project Award, the S&T Achievement Award, the Academic paper Award, the invention and patent award and so on.
In 2012, college of Arts and Sciences continued to make great strides on research work, based on the extension of the rapid development in previous two years. Our college published 20 SCI Papers, ranking top 1 in our university, and won six national fund projects, ranking top 2 in our university. In this commending conference, our college was commended the Department Award for S&T Contributions, Hui Liu commended the second prize of Scientific and Technological Achievements Award, Jiao Jiang and five other teachers commended the Annual Recognition Award for Approval of National Project, Hui Jiang, Xiaohong Zhang and seven other teachers commended separately first prize, second prize and third prize of Academic Paper Award. Jianbiao Chen, Ming Sun commended Invention and Patent Award.
In recent years, College of Arts and Sciences has promoted scientific research and discipline construction, as an important method and approach to enhance the overall quality of teachers, and to promote the positive interaction between teaching and research. The College has actively and effectively organized the research activities, and strengthened research awareness of teachers, with new breakthroughs and achievements made continuously on research and discipline construction. The practice of recent years has proved that the strengthening of research and discipline construction not only has promoted the construction of study and academic culture of college, but also has significantly enhanced the status and influence of arts and sciences group in the development of our university.
